One Really Random Post

So we made it home on Wednesday around 1 pm and it felt soo great to get out of the car! Since then we have been getting things done around the house for Christmas and just enjoying being back in our home for a while. Today we went to visit Todd's parents and stoped by Great Grandad's house too. Before we left I snaped a 4 generation picture of the boys and was actually able to get everyone to look at the camera this time :) Yesterday Todd picked up a Christmas tree at Lowes and when he went to pay for it he only had to come up with $1.25! The last picture is of my new Bosch mixer...it is AWESOME. The first day I used it to make some bread and it was so nice, and FAST! I'm so excited to grind up some wheat in my wheat grinder and start making bread mmm :)

Enjoying the Weather

So this afternoon we wanted to take advantage of the time we have to be here in Sarasota so we went for a drive. The city isn't too big, but it has lots of great beaches and outside areas so we could stop and get out and play. We had a blast! I got to see a dolphin, a few racoons, and a mangrove forest. It is really beautiful down here and the weather was just fantastic :)

Birthday Party

We had a birthday party for Wes on Thursday and it was a lot of fun. First Wes played with his lego table with his uncles Connor and Hunter. Then, we lit the candle and sang happy birthday, which Wes was NOT very happy about. He started crying and didn't want anything to do with that cake! We dipped ourselves some ice cream and used our cold stone to mix in different toppings (it was a lot of fun and really yummy) while Grandpa Wilkins worked on getting Wes to like the cake. Finally he would touch it and thought it was pretty good but then after a while he started freaking out because he was soo dirty :) After Wes was all cleaned up he opened his tool belt present and had fun playing with all the tools that came with it. It was nice to be home for a few days and have family over to help celebrate Wes' first year!

One year ago...

Today!

Today was Wes' 1st birthday! Linzi was so nice and made him a pancake for breakfast with a match as a candle and everything. he thought it was pretty great, and he liked eating the pancake too. Then, later today I took him to the park and he had it almost entirely to himself which he thought was great. Later, I still had some packing to do so Wes helped me with that (ok, so he actually made it harder) and then tonight we went out for dinner with his friends Ryan and Matt :)

The other day I took Wes to the park and he had a blast. He also had a runny nose and a little girl there was pretty worried about it. She went over to her mom and got a clean tissue and then tried to wipe it for him...but he got mad and wouldn't let her :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving we had lunch provided by the owner of the restaurant that the boys are working on. We ate at one of his other restaurants and had the place all to ourselves. It was pretty fancy! The food was fantastic and Wes had a fun time playing around with all of the other kids. Thanks Wilo!

I haven't posted in a LONG time, so here are a bunch of pictures to makeup for it! We are starting to wind down and get ready for our trip home. We have had a blast here but are ready to see family again and then move on to our next adventure :)

Lucky for us our condo came with toys for Wes...unfortunately they happen to be the exact same things we use to cook and eat with. The other night after dinner Wes was playing with a Styrofoam plate and whenever we tried to take it away he started to cry...hard. So, we decided to let him play for a while longer while we cleaned dinner up. He ended up playing for another hour with that thing, and then when he found it the next day he got soo excited. He has since learned how to tear it up (which of course was even more fun) so I threw it away. One plate in the toy chest I can handle...20 tiny pieces all over the floor is just too much.

Happy Halloween!

Where we live...and other stuff

I thought I would post some pictures of where we live. The first picture is the view from our balcony. We overlook the pool and the street and Wes likes to go out there when he gets bored inside (don't worry we tested to see if his head could slip through on the first day...it can't).

The other day I was reading on the couch while I waited for the laundry to finish. Wes has an obsession with our laundry basket so of course he started playing with it. Then he started crying so I get up to see what was going on. With all his genius little brains he had managed to pull the laundry basket down on the ground, pull out the clothes and climb inside. Once he got to the end he couldn't figure out how to turn around and was stuck. haha By the time I got the camera out he had figured it out (of course, he's so smart :) and went right on playing.

The last picture is of us playing The Office Trivia Game. Linzi and Justin have been catching up on all the seasons (1-4) and once they finished they bought the game from walgreens and challenged Todd and I. We had a lot of fun, and I WON!
